Still the best sweet white corn on the market. To many, Silver Queen is the best of any corn; white, yellow or bi-color! Tall stalks produce several long ears filled to the tip with succulent white kernels. What a way to top off the summer! Corn prefers fertile soil and regular moisture. Make first sowing after last frost date when soil is completely warm, at least 76F (18C). For best pollination, which is needed for well-filled ears, plant in blocks of at least four rows. Keep young plants well weeded. Ears are ready to pick about 20 days after silks first appear.
