Description
Pelleted lime is easy to apply and less dusty than granular lime. The purpose of lime is to balance soil pH and improve soil quality. Lime can be applied any time of year. Soil pH is crucial in maintaining a healthy garden or lawn because without the proper soil pH, the nutrients in the soil get bound up and aren’t readily available to the plant. Typical soil pH in the mid-atlantic region is around 5.5 and ideal for grass is 6.4-6.8. Soil pH and soil nutrient content can be determined with a soil test.
