Tazetta-type daffodils, including the paperwhites that can be forced into bloom indoors during the winter, are also fragrant. ‘Avalanche’ has a cluster of 10 to 20 tiny flowers, creating almost an entire bouquet on one stem. Its flowers have white petals and pale-yellow cups with a wonderful musky-sweet fragrance. Having a hardy zone of 6 allows it to be enjoyed in many gardens. It’s display automatically is enhanced when combined with plants like Tulipa ‘Pink Impression’, ornithogalum balansae, and pansies.
Planting time: Place the bulbs in pebbles and water. The bowl is placed directly in full light in the window in a 55-65 degrees Fahrenheit room. Indoor Narcissus can be planted from October till March. If planted at intervals from three to four weeks, one can enjoy a subsequent flowering of these easy to grow bulbs over a period of several weeks.
Flowering time and watering: Indoor Narcissus flower within 4-6 weeks after planting and watering. They like wet roots, water the pot thoroughly to start growth and when the leaves appear, fill up the saucer with water, making sure the roots do not dry out.
