49er Hybrid Squash
An outstanding prolific summer vegetable that is easy to grow. The fruits are delicious when picked while young and immature. Eat fresh and freeze excess for various breads, cakes, casseroless, souffles, pancakes and custard recipes.
When and where to plant
Select a sunny location and plant in late spring when soil is warm and danger of frost is past. Cultivate and enrich soil with vegetable food and organic matter. May be planted among corn plants to save space. Firm soil over seed.
Care
Water heavily and frequently. Feed every 3-4 weeks.
Harvesting
Pick continuously to ensure ssteady supply, when fruits are young, tender and easily punctured.
