Description
Broadleaf Sage
Extremely popular and hardy perennial that is attractive in the garden and a delightful seasoning for stuffing, pork, lamb, veal, duck, meat loaf, stew and chowders. Grows 18-30″ tall.
When and where to plant
Select sunny location, cultivate soil and plant after last frost. Tolerates poor, dry soil and heat. For earlier harvest start seeds indoors. Firm soil over seeds.
Care
Do not over water. Cut stems back after blooming.
Harvesting
Pick leaves as needed and use fresh or dried. Harvest for drying in late spring and mid-summer by cutting 6-8″ from tips as flower buds appear.
