Neck Pumpkin
Lots of fun to grow, but require considerable space. In addition to growing pumpkins for jack-o-lanterns you can use them for cooking (pies), canning or just eat their seeds.
When and where to plant
Plant in late spring after the last frost in full sun or light shade. Soil should be warm, enriched with vegetable food, compost, and cultivated. Firm soil over seed. May be grown among corn plants.
Care
Feed monthly and keep soil moist. Pinch off all but 1 or 2 pumpkins per vine for larger fruit.
Harvest
Cut from vine using pruning shear, leaving 3″ of stem.
